This picture was taken in early September on the Singing Hills trail in Wauconda, IL. As you can probably tell, these trails are some of the most special places in Lake County to me, so I have have no issues about soaking them in any chance I get. I remember this particular day being one in which storm fronts were lighting up the radar, but nothing really came of it. This meant I could get on the bike and just ride for a while to clear my head.
Finding the clearing for the shot, I stopped my ride to capture the moment. There’s something so cool about the light blue sky peaking through the various whites, grays, and blacks of the storm clouds. To the human eye, they seem like they stretch into eternity and far beyond my view. In that moment, I was reminded of life’s uncertainty. Just like I can’t tell you what’s beyond my view, I cannot be sure of what life has in store. I just have to trust that things will work out exactly how they are supposed to. A positive state of mind will only make things better moving forward.
